5. Dr. Cusumano comes to us from
Te Cleveland Clinic; his new of-
fce is located in the Lady’s Island
Professional Center Suite 12 of Sea
Island Parkway behind the Sonic
restaurant.
Dr. Cusumano received a bach-
elor of science degree in pharmacy
with honors from Ohio Northern
clinical professor at Case Western
Reserve University Medical
School from 1987 to 2011. In 1995,
he developed and chaired the
Committee for Preventive Medicine
Curriculum at St. Luke’s Medical
Center Internal Medicine Residency
program. And, in 1999, he became
a clinical professor at Ohio State
University School of Medicine.
Consistently named among the best
doctors regionally and nationally
by his peers, Dr. Cusumano has a
special interest in taking the time
to communicate with and educate
his patients. Because of his phar-
maceutical background, he is also
interested evaluating and monitor-
ing drug interactions.

come Dr. Mansker and her family
to Beaufort,” says Sam Derrick,
executive director of Beaufort
Memorial Physician Partners.
“Dr. Mansker is a native of the
Lowcountry, and we are very happy
to have a surgeon of her caliber
joining our practice.”
She is a cum laude graduate of
the honors college of the University
of South Carolina (USC) with a
bachelor’s degree in biology and
medical humanities. During her
time at USC, she was involved
in a number of academic honor
societies and earned numer-
ous scholarships, including the
Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, the
Valedictorian Scholarship, the
BHS Booster Club Scholarship,
the Anne A. Agnew Scholarship
from the SC State Employees
Association, and two scholarships
from TDS Telecom.
She completed her medical
studies at the Medical University
of South Carolina (MUSC) in
Charleston in June 2006, and
she is a member of the American
Medical Association and the South
Carolina Medical Association.
Dr. Mansker completed her
internship at MUSC in July 2007
and also recently completed her
surgical residency there. A surgical

at Wright State University School
of Medicine, and completed his
internship and residency in inter-
nal medicine at Cleveland Metro
General Hospital.
“Dr. Cusumano comes to us from
the Cleveland Clinic and will bring
a wealth of experience in compas-
sionate, patient-centered care to our
community,” says Sam Derrick, exec-
utive director. “Lady’s Island Internal
Medicine is the seventh medical
practice in our growing physician
network at Beaufort Memorial.”
A fellow in the American College
of Physicians, Dr. Cusumano was
a member of the active staf of
Meridia Hillcrest Hospital from
1994 to 2011, and was an assistant

residency takes fve years and
encompasses a variety of surgi-
cal specialties including breast,
thoracic, abdominal, orthopedic,
urologic, endocrine and vascular
surgery. Her training also empha-
sizes laparoscopic and minimally
invasive techniques.
“I am very excited to come
to Beaufort,” Dr. Mansker says.
“Family means everything to me,
and I am thrilled to find a home
close to my family in Moncks
Corner, S.C. My husband and I fell
in love with Beaufort the first time
we visited. The town is simply
beautiful, and every person I met
made me feel welcome and at
home.”
She is married to her high school
sweetheart, Phillip, and they have
a 6-month-old son named Jacob.
Dr. Mansker and her family enjoy
outdoor activities, such as boating,
fshing and camping. She also enjoys
reading and music.
